‘The Embassy’ is Lindsey Airsoft’s urban site and is situated in Manby Business Park, on the edge of the village of Manby, Lincolnshire, itself. The site is a 300 room, 3 story and 8 staircase building and its surrounding grounds. It is in fact an old RAF admin camp. Most rooms and corridors have no lights and at night with the windows boarded up means that it is very dark, even with torches and tac-lights, with Thunderflashes going off game play gets very disorientating and interesting – certainly not for the faint hearted!
The same people turn up from the Lindsey Airsoft main site turn up to the Thursday night urban games at ‘The Embassy’ so you get the same welcoming atmosphere and the same people talking Airsoft and trying out each other’s equipment. The start is usually quite slow taking place due to people turning up and doing pre-game jobs.
When things do kick off, the night normally starts with ‘defend the kitchen’. As the name suggests one team has to get to the kitchen with the other stopping them. Other games range from conquering your opponents end of a corridor to protecting a ‘VIP’ to actually infiltrating the building from outside.
Facilities at ‘The Embassy’ are excellent. Free tea and coffee are available with prospects of a vending machine appearing in the near future. Toilets are located near the safe zone, grenades, ammunition and batteries are available at reception, charging is also available as is gun hire. Prices are very good with entrance being £10 with regular visitors receiving discounts.
‘The Embassy’ is different from any site I’ve used before. Urban sites that I’ve been to have very little combat actually indoors, just combat from building to building. ‘The Embassy’ is almost completely indoor, with a lot of room to room fighting and a lot of returning fire down the many long corridors. The lack of light in most places also gives that feel of realism and creates a lot of suspense. It really is something I had not experienced before I came. I would recommend any Airsofter looking for something different to what you will find a lot of sites, come down to ‘The Embassy’. Games take place on Thursday from 6:30PM-10:30PM, however will often run as late as 11.
