Finally after a few months of waiting and thinking. I Got My CYMA SLR (thanks FAFA LARRY).
The last quarter of the year is very good for airsofters in the Philippines, we have lots of models that came out. Out of the so many ACM guns that came out, I trimmed my decision to 3. They are, in no particular order:
1. Warrior L96 (WOW Out of the box decent sniper rifle)
2. CYMA .031 (AK SLR) – Modern AK
3. KART M14 (who doesn’t want one)
Why did I choose the Cyma .031?
1. Playing Style – though its fun to be a sniper, I play as a heavy gunner and assault.
2. Handling – the M14, though it’s a very handsome gun I have 2 M4s it seems its double the length of my current guns
3. AK fever – I’ve always wanted an AK
On to the review:
CYMA – Airsoft serious
It seems that CYMA is taking their airsoft business seriously, compared to other acms which package their guns in non-attractive boxes. Cyma made sure that their AEGs would be noticed first when you walk in a store.
And when you see how they designed the box, you'll be sure that what's inside is serious business.

The First time I held the gun, I said WOW. This is one heavy gun, no mag nor battery. There is absolutely no wobble or creaks, Its one SOLID gun.
As mentioned in the other forums here, the metal parts are as follows:
• Flash hider (removable)
• Outer barrel
• Front and rear sight
• Upper receiver
• Rear sling attachment
• Trigger guard
Did I forget anything? Just tell me 
The rest is made up of hi-quality ABS. the fininsh of the plastic parts is NOT shiny.
People say that it’s an exact copy of the CA SLR except for the receiver, which is plastic on the cyma and metal on the Classic army version.

The magazine has an estimated capacity of 500 rounds and is made up of hi-quality ABS plastic.
Even the free pack of bb's is pacakged nicely.
FIRING:
I charged the stock battery for 8 hours and loaded the bb’s on the mag fired a couple on single fire…. Hmm no misfeeds….AUTO wow the gun is very well made. It’s sounds like a stock marui AK. No wheeze, no whirr no strange noises…. I haven’t encountered any misfeeds (yet).
You can hit a TRUCK sized target in 100ft. Yes your read it right, truck sized, though it has a long barrel, longer than my R6, its still in stock form (r6 setup: used pdi spring, everything stock), I might get a 6.04 tight barrel and probable replace the hop mechanism too. The grouping is really bad considering that they changed the internal barrel form aluminum (in the .028) to brass (.031).
VERDICT:
The only sad thing about this gun is its bad groupings and power in stock form, but with its overall looks and solid feel, at P3,xxx its worth every centavo.

Dissassembly is a breeze. If you have an AK dissasembly manual (I got mine from www.airsoftplayers.com) , you can be at the bare gearbox inless than 10 mins. Just make sure you remember what screw goes where. Smile
The Gun is divided in 3 sections: the stock (or butt), the receiver, and the barrel assembly.
The stock butt has enough room for a 8.4v sub c 2400mAh nicd battery
(a 9.6v 2400mAh ni-cd in 2x4 configuration will NOT fit inside the butt), I will have to do some DIYs for my battery problem.
The receiver as mentioned before, is made up of hi-quality ABS, contrary to popular belief, you won’t be needing a metal one for this part.
The barrel assembly is where most of the metal parts are, making this a little front heavy, I noted that cyma has inserted some metal weights in the gas tubes. Either you remove the weights in front of have a bigger battery in the butt installed (sub c 9.6v 2400mAh) for a well balanced gun.
Gearbox Upgrade:
Upon opening the gearbox, I was impressed on how they assembled it, in contrast with the well AEGs it seems that they don’t use petroleum grease as lubricant, they probably used lithium grease. The gearbox is clean, no excess grease, so its easy to remove and clean the parts prior to upgrades.
Some parts are made up of CLEAR Plastic (I don’t know its composition)
• Nozzle
• Spring guide
• Tappet plate
The parts that I’m going to replace:
• Spring – systema M130
• Gears – CA STU helicals
• Piston – Deepfire polycarbonate
• Piston head – Stock CA with bearing
• Shims and metal oilless bushings
Cons
• There are some bushing slots that are a little loose, i had to put on some "glue" to fix the problem
• If you are going to do the upgrades yourself and not letting a gunsmith do the work for you, I suggest you replace all the gearbox springs, the trigger spring and the anti-reversal latch spring are a b1+ch to install
Pros
• The Stock Gears have C.A. markings It can pull a pdi190% spring.
• Compression is good, better than that of WELL AEGs, but not as good as the high end AEGs
Hop and barrel: I also didn't bother tinkering with the hop-assembly and the internal barrel, wanted to see why cyma didn't copy CA's hop and barrel design and made their own. I'm hoping that they intentionally made it that way as an improvement over the existing AK AEG designs.
Testing: Firing in single mode i felt that i had to tighten the motor adjustment screw further in. After a few turns the whirring noise was gone. In full auto I felt a loss of ROF because of the STU I installed.
Poor Man’s Chrono: I tested a SanMig Lite Beer Can, Using a .20 bb load, it went through both sides, I tried the bottom central of the can, No problems. The Bottom side a major dent. Estimated a 430-450 FPS.

I got this gun from HK via airmail. I wanted one, because I serviced a CA SLR105 earlier and I did like that gun.
When I took it out of the box, the outer barrel was moving left and right. The barrel wooble was terrible, worse than an old TM Armalite. Also it was light. With a battery and full mag of BBs, it was still lighter than the SLR. The top receiver is made of metal while the bottom receiver is plastic. My main problem with that setup is the mismatch of the colors. The top part is grayish black while the bottom is dark black. I wish they made it all metal or all plastic. The current setup doesn't look that good. However, the outer barrel is all metal and top notch.
The plastic furniture is fine. Not as good as the CA's glassfiber parts thou. From around 10m they look super. From 5m they look good. From 1m they look fair and you can see seamlines. The CA SLR look super from any distance.
I decided to upgrade/check the internals. The disassembly is easy like on all AK. The hopup assemlby is using a BAX system. This means you need to buy a new hopup unit AND a new barrel if you want to improve the gun. There was no trace of grease in the gearbox. All parts were as dry as new. So I had to lubricate the gears, and the inion. The bushing were indeed loose fit. I tried leftover TM bushigs, and found 6 that more or less filled the holes. I had to reshim afterward. The spring guide was faulty at best. It looked like it was broken, but fixed with glue. I filled it with hot glue just to make sure it does not snap. I replaced the piston assembly with a TM one. Didn't like the original. Greased it and tried to assemble with a new spring. Then the problems came. Cyma forgot to screw the trigger assembly into the gearbox (the screwhole was empty). So it kept falling apart. Given the overly strong the anti-reversal latch spring, I had a hard time with assembling it. I was 1 hand too short  .
I wanted to fix the woobling barrel as well. So I checked the front set. It is made of poor quality plastic. The self taping screws had already killed 2 screwholes, by the time I opened it up. I applied some layers of tape onto the outer barrel and gently re-tightened all the screws. It holds now, but it feels fragile.
The hopup didn't work at first. I had to apply some silicon oil to make it shoot more than 100 FPS.
After the hop started to work again, I tested it. I found that it had a good accuracy and very consistent FPS. It chronoed around or little over 330 FPS (checked with Sound Chrono). The range was as good as the range of any 1J gun.
All in all, it is not a bad gun. But it won't beat CA either. This is my brief review of the CM.031, which is a clone of the CA SLR105 and the second ACM gun i have owned.
I ordered my gun from gunner airsoft. the service was very efficient, being shipped on the Saturday and arriving on the Monday (i paid extra for TNT delivery, i highly recommend it). i ordered 3 extra mags, however one mag did not have a top hatch, it didnt show signs of it breaking so i assume it never had one, but i dont blame this on gunner, its CYMA's quality control.
really i did want the CM.031A which has a scope mount but when i ordered it they were out of stock, the day it arrived they had them back in stock.
To start with, I wasn't to surprised by the weight of the box, it felt right for a plastic bodied gun, the box looks alright, shows a image of the gun on the front with all the info about it on the sides, etc
the inside of the box is polystyrene and fits the gun well, it wont move in the box and is well protected.
the gun comes with the following:
1 500rnd high cap mag
1 sling
1 8.4V battery
1 charger (2 pin)
1 bag of .20 bbs
1 cleaning rod
1 foresight adjustment tool
I will go through each of these;
the Mag is plastic, it feels quite cheap, but thats because it is. it sits well in the gun and doesn't wobble, i used the stock mag in the gun and it feeds fine.
if you are used to guns such as armalites, then you will have to get used to the loading method for an AK, on the mag there is a lip,
 
this lip fits into the mag well,then you push the magazine back against the mag release and into the mag well.
to release the mag, push the mag release forward, and withdraw the mag.
 
the sling is usable, im not sure how long it will last, but its ok quality.
now the battery, this is utter rubbish and should be binned, it is a large type battery but with mini connectors (this seems a recurring theme with CYMA guns)
 
the charger is a two pin, however it sits loosely in my adapter, and it will probably burn down my house if i leave it for more than 10mins. It also has a mini connector.
The Bag of bbs supplied were of low quality, looking through the bag, i could see bumps and imperfections, i wouldnt put these through the stock gun, let alone a tightbore.
the cleaning rod is also of poor quality, and i would not use it, even if you do remove the mold lines.
the supplied foresight adjustment tool is good, does exactly what it says on the box.
The externals of the gun are good, but i wouldn't say it was as nice externally as the AGM MP40.
this is the front end including fore grip, gas parts barrel and muzzle break.
(writing on receiver says: CAL 6mm BB Waming:NOT ATOY. FOR 18 YEAR AND UP. BEFORE USING, READ OWNERS MANUAL. MADE IN CHINA.)
The stock and pistol grip are made of the same quality plastic as the fore grip,they feel good, however it feels cheaper and less sturdy than high end guns, in the shoulder, the stock feels like it could snap if you accidentally fell on it, and i dont feel confident of its strength. However i felt the same about the stock on the TM Beta Spetz.
the stock fits a large 8.4V battery. A 9.6V will most likely fit if you modify the inside of the stock, also the wiring inside the stock is fitted with a mini connector.
 
although there are two screws on the butt plate/battery cover, it just slides off, no need to bring a screwdriver anywhere near it.
The cocking handle is metal, and when pulled back reveals the hop up adjustment, it slides back with a satisfactory click, and unlike my CA armalites, i doubt that this handle will break as easily.

The rear site is metal and is marked 1-8, it is adjusted by pressing in the button on the circular bar, and moving the bar to a setting, to elevate or decrease the hight. it is still easy to aim, even with it set at 8. I assume the numbers correspond with x hundred meters.
Thats it for the externals so now performance;
i charged up the stock battery pack, even with this, the stock power is noticeable, it shoots harder than a TM, and has about the same ROF, The sound of it shooting, does however sound disappointing, this is an AK, it should be loud but the gun sounds a bit squeaky.
accuracy is also good. i was able to hit the same point on the target with most BBs firing in 10 rnd bursts. However in semi the gun doesn't always want to fire, it is not gearbox lockup, it just wont fire. this stopped when i changed the battery for an Intellect 9.6V mini.
I would recommend this gun as a beginners gun or as a project gun. it needs little work for it to perform well, however i will not take this to a skirmish in stock form, but if i was to, i think i would have no problems keeping up with those with higher end guns. for me this is a very good base for a project gun.------------------------------ UK AirSofters!
