This is my 5th ACM gun but my first review so bear with me !!!!
I ordered this gun from CheckSix Airsoft. The cost breakdown was as follows...
G36C - $80
Shipping - $63
Paypal Fee - $5.08 (something Checksix seems to charge as a small extra)
Total - $148.08
After paying this via Paypal and their extortionate exchange rates I ended up paying £77.63 and then had to pay an extra £25.11 in customs/parcelforce charges. So in total this cost £102.74 shipped to my doorstep. Still thats a lot less than the £175-ish you would have to pay out for a TM version in the UK.
I've learned now not to get too excited about these things as I was slightly dissapointed with some of my other ACM's (Warrior 1 and M14 finishes not great mainly). But with the G36 I was more than pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. The finish on it is superb. Ok the seam lines are a bit visible but that really doesn't bother me - they are not raised and there are no nasty bits of plastic to clean off. Obviously there are no trades on this one and there is a sort of indented square moulded into the left hand side of the reciver which on the TM has the trades in it. This is just crying out for a team logo to be painted on it in my opinion so that is what it will get soon.
This is also my first SMG type weapon so its a lot smaller than any of my other guns but on picking it up I was surprised at the nice weight it has for such a small, mainly plastic gun. It feels really solid and giving it a close inspection all over I could see everything fits really nicely with no gaps anywhere there shouldn't be. There are no creaks or wobbles on this thing at all.
I've not handled a TM G36 but the JG version is supposed to be an exact copy and have the same metal parts. Externally the metal parts from what I could tell are the flash supressor, the lower RIS rail and sling mount, front and rear sights, the fire select switches, the pins and screws that hold the various sections together and some parts of the rear and stock that hold the stock to the body.
The stock is absolutely solid locked in its open posistion and the stock itself seems solid enough despite being of the skeleton type - I suspect it could handle some fairly hefty knocks without too much trouble. Releasing it to fold is done by simply pressing the half round button on the left hand side and then folding the stock to the right hand side of the gun. This movement is all very solid and smooth. The stock then just pushes on to a catch which locks it firmly in place. Theres no chance this is going to open or close by accident. With the stock closed the gun becomes about two thirds of its overall length and looks pretty mean in my opinion . Not sure I'd ever use it like that but its nice to have the option. Unfortunately mine arrived with the rubber butt plate missing but I have since replaced the whole stock with a TM one.
The top RIS rail runs all the way along the carry handle and the iron sights are nice with the rear being adjustable for windage and elevation. I've stuck one of those reflex holo sights from eHobbyAisa on mine which I think looks pretty good . The ambidextrous fake cocking handle is below the carry handle and I had to read the manual to find out exactly was it was and its function . For those that have not owned a G36, you pull it back to reveal the hop-up adjust on the right side of the gun. The adjuster itself is a sort of barrel that you turn up or down to adjust the hop. Again it feels nicely solid and smooth but maybe a little awkward to turn.
The foregrip has a short RIS rail underneath along with a couple of sling loops. The foregrip itself is simply detached by removing one pin that pushes through one side to the other and then sliding the grip forward. Great for replacing batteries in the middle of a game as it is so quick to do. The foregrip houses a standard mini battery with small connector.
Other things to note are the sling point at the rear of the receiver (perfect for a single point sling) and the fire select switch which feels really nice and clicks nicely into place for all 3 options and of course works on both sides. The supplied magazine is a 450 rnd hi-cap and is as well made as the gun.
I've not had much experience with internals and do not intend to open any of my guns until they break and require me to do so. So internally I can't give an opininon. It does of course have a metal gearbox and the hop is supposed to be the same as TM.
I used this at the weekend in a skirmish for the second part of the day. I didn't use the supplied battery as I find the rof is slower with these. Instead I borrowed a decent battery and had a much nicer rof. The day was a particularly windy day and everybody had been having trouble all day. This combined with us playing in a stone quarry so the white bb's were not always that visible against the white stone background meant that really testing the accuarcy was pretty difficult! Other than that I really enjoyed using it. I found it a really comfortable gun to use despite being tall (6' 2") and having long arms. At closer ranges amongst the rocks (CQB sort of ranges) it was fantastic and reliable with no noticable misfeeds.

I also purchased a Private Parts magwell adapter and it fits perfectly. For those of you that don't know what this is, it basically means you can use M16/M4 mags in your G36. It was very easy to fit and my G&P metal midcaps fit with only a small amount of wobble (apparently this is common with the adapter). Test firing one 130 rnd midcap through it showed it worked perfectly with no misfeeds. This is very interesting as I hear TM users have been having problems using the adapter on theirs (there is a thread somewhere about it on here). All I need to do is apply some tape in the magwell to stop the wobble - other than that no new mags required YAY
Overall I am very happy with this gun and I rate JG very highly. I would certainly recommend this gun to anyone that was thinking of buying it.
Additional comments, 9th April 2007 - I'm still loving this little beauty, in fact its my favourite gun at the moment! Since posting the review I replaced the stock with a TM one, replaced the hop rubber with a TM one and completely degreased the barrel and cleaned the hop unit. Taking the barrel and hop out and cleaning them completely made a hell of a difference. That combined with the TM hop rubber - this thing has awesome range and is bloody accurate. I still highly recommend this gun - its flipping great!------------------------------

Echo 1/JG G36C review
FPS:350
Battery:8.4 1100
Build: Plastic (85% I would say)
Price: around $145
Ok this is a very good gun first off. Lets get the bad stuff out of the way though. Here are the con's:
It's rather plasticly.
Stock battery could be better.
Stock motor could be better.
Ok that's it. In more detail after a bit of use the body gets a little shiny in places where you would grip it a lot. IE the pistol grip and fore grip. The stock battery will be drained fast and ROF will go down quickly. The ROF with the stock motor even with the battery fully charged is nothing to get excited about, it around 15 RPS. But even so it will work for “spray and Prayers”.
Externals:
The included hicap is very cool indeed. 470rds and no wobble in the mag well at all. Very pleased with the mag, and the price: $20 for about 500rds. The taps for locking the mag together are usable, but dont expect them to not break if you slam them on stuff all the time. This is true for most G36 mags from my understanding. They are a bit big, so you will not be fitting 2 in most mag pouches.
The folding stock has a very positive click when folding. It has a nice rubber butt pad on it, very comfy to shoulder.
Sling mounts are molded into the main body and stock. It has 2 right under the front of the barrel, one on the body, and one on the end of the stock. Again, solid is the key word here. I have no concerns that they will break any time soon.
It comes with 2 rails for mounting things on it. One on top for optics, the other is under the barrel behind the sling mounts there. The lower one is metal, top is plastic. Both do their job nicely and can take a beating.
The cocking handle is not the greatest out there, but that kind go's for all G36s. I have no issues with it breaking, but it makes a VERY plasticly sound when racked. Pull it back to access the hop up. It's not marui hop, but it gets the job done.
The pistol grip is ok, but I am used to a FA-MAS, which is just about as comfy as you can get. The G36Cs feels a little small to me, but my hands are rather large, M4s grips I dont like either. That is really just my opinion, so I say try it for yourself.
Internals:
The internals are well lubed as with all cheapsoft guns. It uses a V3 gearbox. I am not great with AEG internals, but even I can tell these are decent for sure. I have had no issues what so ever thus far.
Performance:
I am happy to report that this gun is a very good performer. It can hold its own with upgraded guns. I think putting the extra money into a more expensive gun is a good idea, but for getting into the sport or for a loaner, this gets the job done quite well. I would say range is good out to about 150 ft, FPS looks to be around what retailers claim, so 350 FPS. It is accurate, but not tight bore accurate. Accurate enough would be term I would use. ROF is ok nothing great nothing bad. I think a better battery would be good, but not required. No feeding issues with the hicaps either. When you pull the trigger, expect the gun to shoot every time with exceptions of course.
The key words to describe this gun are:
Solid
Reliable
Good for the money
Conclusion:
This gun is IMO the second best G36C on the market. The KWA G36C is better, but hey this is much cheaper.
Reasons to buy this gun:
Loaner
Getting into the sport
Cheap G36K (if you buy the front end kit)
Upgrading is easy
It can take a lot of external extras. (not as many as a M4 lol but a lot.).
Reasons not to buy this gun
You are looking to have the BEST g36C out there
Looking for high end guns
Great externals
Range
This gun does what it was made to do very well. It's no sniper or anything, but it can clear room is CQB as well as be used as a mid-ranged rifle. It is a good investment if used for those things.
I give this gun a solid 8 out of 10. Great value for the money. |

Price $135, Well built for a plastic gun, Sturdy Stock, Accurate and fast shooting Compact, Several RIS rails, and room for upgrades , Did I mention price? Easy to use and maintain. Good weight.

Cons:

Mag seems to be cheaper quality and needs to be lubed, The Mag clips on the sides of the mag are not sturdy enough for in-game action. Rear sight needs an allen wrench to adjust, Getting the battery in can be troublesome at first, Its mosty plastic. Not

Asformentioned I wrote this a while back on my areas local forum, so i reposted it to help people out here. Hope it helps!
The ECHO 1 series of guns have been getting a lot of attention in these forums and the airsoft community. I have an ECHO 1 G36C, and here is the complete smackdown of the gun.
LOOKS: The Gun is a very good looking replica of the G36C. And it has a comfortable weight. The Gun is mostly hard plastic(This is not no crappy stuff), and there are some metal parts. They are: The RIS Rails on top and bottom, The sights, the trigger, button for collapsing the stock, the cover that pulls back in front of the hop up, and all the screws. Also there is metal inside the fire selctor switch I believe. The Stock folds to the right side of the gun.
When extended, the stock is VERY sturdy, and doesnt budge. The Sights are sturdy. The rear sight, like the M16 and M4, has 2 opening sizes, depending on range. If you want to move the whole rear sight assembly back or forth, however, you will need an allen wrench. I have not needed to yet, but this could be a pain for someone adjusting in the field. There is a large RIS on top, and it can take Red-Dots and Scopes. There is also one on the botttom, and there are holes so you can mount 2 more RIS rails on either side of the front also.(The strap I bought separately BTW).
BATTERY AND HOPUP: It comes with a 8.4V, 1200MaH mini Type Battery. The Battery compartment is in front of the gun(Like most others), and can be accessed by removing the Bolt right below the Top RIS sight/rail system.
Getting the battery back in is troublesome at first, as everything has to be nearly flat and folded neatly for the front to fit back over, but it becomes second nature after you do it a few times.
The Hop up is accessed by pulling back the cocking lever and it will appear on the right side of the gun.
(It can be pulled on both sides, left or right).
MAGAZINE: It comes with 1 470 Hi-cap mag. This is probably the weakest part of the gun. Ive heard that peoples bb releases have opened on them after springing the mag, sending bbs everywhere. This has not happened to me yet, so It all depends. It is all plastic. NOTICE: Spray some silicon lube on some bbs and run them through the mag several times. If you don't, you mag will not feed right, and you will wind up blankfiring a lot, since the mag wont keep up with the gun. There are clips on the side of the mag so you can connect them together. It is great for storage, but I recommend AGAINST doing it in game , because the clips are not 100% sturdy,(A mag fell off me once in game), and you can't fold the stock with both mags connected and attached to the gun, the xtra mag blocks it from closing),
FIRING: AIRSOFT GI chronod my gun at 350FPS, and at TRP they Chronod me in the 340s, so expect 340s-350s for the fps with .20g bbs.
I live in the city, so my space is a little limited. I set up 2 targets(each was a sheet of standard typing paper)one about 15ft away and the other about 40ft. Here are pictures. These pic were taken from where i shot at the target.
I shot about 20-30 at each target, on full auto, but I shot in 3-6 shot bursts. I shot with the stock extended.
Target 1: Very accurate, all shots on target, very tight.
Target 2: More spread out, but still in the target zone, and this piece of paper would represent a small portion of a torso. I didnt do single shot tests, but they would be more accurate naturally.
RANGE: I shot over a large hill behind my house. The bbs went about 300ft in my opinion, but factoring in I was shooting over a large hill AND it was humid, so the bbs had more hangtime, the REAL range would be more around 150ft, a decent range.
Overall, this guns is AMAZING for the price, and Im so glad I bought it. The overall life of these guns is still in question, but parts can keep you going, and mine shows no signs of slowing down. 5 stars!------------------------------

This is undoubtedly one of the most highly praised China clone AEGs on the market at the moment. I'm sure you all have read plenty of reviews of this one, so I'll try my best to keep it interesting and fresh, though I don't know how successful I'll be.
Let me be blunt in saying that this is by far my favorite AEG in my collection. I have always been a fan of the G36 series and for only about $120, I couldn't help but treat myself to one.
I'll be braking this up into the usual sections:
-Initial Impressions
-Appearance/Feel/Build Quality
-Technical Information
-Performance
-Pros & Cons
-The Bottom Line
Initial Impressions-
The box comes with the usual bits and pieces: the gun, a 470rd Hicap, unjamming rod, battery, wall charger, and the obligatory "test" BBs. Cracking open the box resulted in the usual excitement of looking at any new gun for the first time. I wish I could say it felt a little more special than the 'usual,' but after reading all of the raving reviews, I honestly knew exactly what to expect. Don't get me wrong though -- this rifle is a beauty! The gun feels a tad light, but I'm not complaining. That just makes it easier to heft on the skirmish field. The grip is nice and comfortable and the stock is stiff. Shouldering this rifle just feels like it locks into place... it just feels 'right.' Inserting the magazine took a few tries to get right, but it's easy to get the hang of. The magazine fits into the magwell very snugly and will require a little bit of force to get it to latch into place. The gun is so well built though, slapping a mag into place is no problem and it will feel natural to do so. I guess that does it for initial impressions -- this thing is great!
Appearance/Feel/Build Quality-
This is my third AEG and I can decisively say that its quality is leaps and bounds above the others. The entire gun is made from high quality ABS. No, it's not composite, but for $120 you can't complain. Everything is rock solid. There are no squeaks, creaks, wiggles, nothing of the sort. Nothing feels flimsy in in the least. You could easily smash a zombie's head in with it, haha. The stock is foldable, as I'm sure you are quite aware. Now, usually moving parts start to develop some play after a while, but I have owned this thing for about half a year now and it is as solid as the day it arrived. It latches into both the folded and extended positions with a satisfying click and has zero play in either of the positions. Whoever the engineer behind this design gets my props. All I can say is, "Excellent!

The fire selector snaps into each position with authority, so there is no mistaking which setting you are in. I do find that I need to shift my grip to move back to semi or safe from full auto, but that's probably due to my anatomy and is not the gun's fault.
Everything on this gun is very well thought out. The fuse placement is great, the battery compartment works perfectly. From a technical standpoint, this is a quality piece of engineering.
Technical Information-
This gun comes pre-upgraded from the factory with some very tasty bits: a metal spring guide, polycarb piston, steel gearset, and metal bushings which all help drive an M120 spring.
The supplied 8.4v 1100mAh battery does a fine job of turning over the motor, though due to the low capacity, it might be smart to get an extra one. Fitting the battery into the compartment takes a few tries at first, but is really very simple. Since virtually every other review out there tells you how to do this, I'll save you the time.

The magazine is made from quality ABS, holds 470 rounds, and feeds flawlessly. Quality stuff. I should also note that this gun is fully compatible with most magazines out there -- I know for a fact that both MAG and STAR midcaps work perfectly, and would imagine that other ones will yield the same results.
Performance-
Unfortunately I don't have very much to post in this section at the moment. I will be adding grouping photos as soon as I can.
The trigger pull is smooth and light. I can't tell you how this feels compared to a real gun, but it gets the job done, and that's what counts right? In semi-auto, each pull of the trigger is nice and responsive. The motor turns over smoothly and doesn't sound like it's struggling to pull the M120 spring. The gun just purrs in full auto, however the rate of fire is less compared to other guns I've seen. This doesn't bother me too much, but it's something worth noting.
Again, I don't have a chronograph of my own, but it shoots right around the advertised 340fps after settling in. AirsoftGI.com tests all of its guns before shipping them and leaves a slip of paper in the box telling the velocity. Mine came out of the box shooting 356fps, so once it has settled in, the advertisement on the box is spot-on.
With all of that said, onto effective range! This little gun packs quite a punch for having such a short barrel. It can easily reach out and hit torsos 120+ feet away. I wouldn't be surprised if it could make those hits at farther distances, but I've never had the chance to test it.

In traditional HK fashion, the iron sights are wonderful and the BBs go exactly where the front post is pointing.
Pros and Cons-
Here's the part I'm sure you all have been waiting for, so let's get to it:
Pros:
-Fantastic quality! I cannot stress this point enough.
-Pre-upgraded!
-Smooth and responsive firing.
-Brilliant range and accuracy for such a small gun!
-CHEAP! There is no better price-to-quality ratio out there.
Cons:
-Rate of fire could be better.
-Is a *little* light. It would feel more real with a little more heft.
The Bottom Line:
Honestly, I cannot say much other than, "Do yourself a favor and buy this gun." For the price, the quality cannot be beat. There is nothing about this gun I can gripe about for more than a few minutes. The good things about it outweigh the bad things about three billionty to one. Everything about this gun is brilliant. Seriously. Even the elitist TM/CA-only people will have a hard time denying that this thing rocks the socks off of their guns out of the box. I cannot stress enough how happy I am with my purchase. 'Nuff said
