I was introduced to SAC by my friend and we decided to stop by and play a few rounds to see how the new place rated. We were impressed!

SAC is based in a warehouse that has been completely converted into a extremely claustrophobic CQB site. It has an attached store, load-up room (to store cases and such) a briefing room (explain what kind of game you play, lots of places to sit). When you first walk in, you notice the two gucci plasma screen TVs mounted on the walls, and the nice seats (leather on one side, comfortable fabric on the other). SAC has a system of security cameras that allow players to see matches currently in progress while they are loading up. It was a very nice feature. To the right of the enterance is the very nice briefing room, with the store (limited to ammo, gas, protective equipment and fixing things, not a full-out retailer) and the stage where refs explain gametypes. To the left is the load-up room, where everyone puts their cases (sometimes the enterance gets cluttered, but most poeple keep kit in the loadup room). SAC is very secure, so no need to worry about anything getting stolen. My friend left his $900 SAW in there with no sweat about it getting stolen.
Once you are loaded up, the ref explains the game, usually warming up with a simple team deathmatch, to more complicated games like Holding the Room, Bank Robbery (steal money bags from around the site), Radio (one massive case, have to get it to the other side and radio in with the ref) etc. etc.
Once everyone is clear on the game, the ref divides people into teams based on skill, gives you a colored bandanna for your team, and you got to the actual site. Vending machines are right outside the door (drinks are cheap, players bring Bawls occasionally). A huge red door greets you with "ENTERING A HOT ZONE", the ref reminds you to put on your mask and you are off. A pile of riot shields to the left, along with barrel socks (yes, literally socks) to cover your barrel after the game is done. You got to your respective spawn points and the ref shouts GO! then its killfest.

The actual airsofting is where SAC really shines... actually, keeps you completely in the dark. Strands of red fiber optic lights are pretty much the only lights on in the whole place. Torches are a must. You can turn lights on in a room, but that is asking for it. When we pinned down a man inside a room, we would kick open the door and turn the lights on, because he had us on angles (we couldnt shoot him, but he could shoot us, basically) and other team members at different locations would try and take him out. SWAT trains sometimes at SAC, and the facility is very tactically oriented. Smart players will always have an upper hand, because you can manipulate the layout and angles in the palce to gain the advantage.

The SAC arena has two main hallways, with a large center block of rooms bisected by a hallway perpindicular to the other two. The rooms are small to medium sized, and all of them have a theme- the one with the bed and the couches and the TV is the apartment, the one with the washing machines is the laundry room etc. etc. Contact can come within two feet, so expect some painful close up shots. SAC is very safety concious, and chronos all guns before you play to ensure they are of safe FPS (>320) and you arent allowed to use full auto inside rooms (only in the hallways is it allowed) The Referees are strict but not imperious or grating in any way, just very, very safety concious. Once the game is over (ranges from 5 minutes to an hour if games get really intense, almost never stalemates) the ref yells cease fire, everyone takes mags out, does a few clearing shots, walks to the exit, grabs a barrel sock and exits. Then its to the load out room and the above cycle repeats.

SAC has quickly become my favorite site. The proffessional staff coupled with the awesome airsofting and nice amenities are the most prominent reasons I like the place. Anyone in the Atlanta area, or even around Georgia, should give it a try. We had more fun there (its only fifteen minutes away) than we have ever had driving up to Athens or Dawsonville to get our 'soft on, and it is much cheaper with better amenities. Give it a try, and you'll quickly become a SAC convert too
Most popular night's are thursdays, fridays and saturdays.
