I have been in the market for a CA 249 Mk II for the past few months, waiting until I saved up enough money from my college part time job. As I was saving up, I was trying to find the 249 in the US, as I didn't want to pay the astronomical price of shipping from Hong Kong on this package. Now, I normally do all of my airsoft purchasing from overseas sites, so when I say that an American retailer is excellent, my words carry extra weight.
Anyways, as I was looking for a site, site after site was sold out. Eventually I discovered that Airsoft Atlanta had them in stock, but the day I was going to buy the M249, they sold out (what luck!). I then began to scramble around, even resulting to the den of all airsoft evil, ebay. There I found a store called Rick's Airsoft Armory. It was advertising an M249 for $875 +40 shipping for the CA 249, box mag, 9.6v 3300 mAh battery, and charger. It was such a great deal that I didn't want to pass it up, but I didn't wanted an 8.4 v bat instead of a 9.6v. I urgently sent a question to Rick to see if they could be swapped.
I received this reply
"Yes, in fact, I would recommend that. You can also purchase the items from my website for slightly cheaper: www.ricksairsoftarmory.com/ca249.html"
A long set of back and forth e-mail ensued, as I asked if I could do a pick up since I lived in LA. Not having an actual storefront, he encouraged me to drive by his home and pick up my package, which I did.
It is my firm opinion that this retailer has some of the best customer service I have seen in the airsoft community. His responses to my questions were prompt and helpful. Furthermore, his prices are superb for a US retailer, as pretty much all of his products (if not all) include shipping, which can be hefty for some of the heavier products. Had I requested Rick to ship the 249 to me he would have done so, which means I could have gotten it for $875 shipped. Another great aspect of this retailer, especially for those in California, is that he doesn't charge tax on his products, so I saved an additional $80-something.
Overall, this retailer, while not having as many products as a few others out there, is one of the best in the US airsoft community. I hope that others may be able to find his site and take full advantage of his exceptional prices (for a U.S. site), and services. |
