First things first, I'll tell you why i bought the Guarder C4 shooting goggles.
A very good friend of mine had just bought a pair of Wiley X SG1 goggles, and i fell in love with them. the interchangeable lenses, coupled with the foam and the option of having them as goggles or glasses was hugely appealing to me, and so i set off to ebay to see how much they went for.
Bad idea. I'm not one for paying £80 on some sunglasses, let alone more than that. So i set about to find some cheaper alternatives.
I'd been looking at the Guarder C4's for a while now, thinking they were a good idea, and then talking myself out of getting them becuase i already have a very nice set of mesh goggles. But i decided to bite the bullet after i found them for only TWENTY ONE POUNDS POSTED from ehobby asia. thats 9 pounds LESS than UK shops, and thats without postage!
"right!" I thought "They're mine!" and promptly bought and paid for them.
They arrived around a week later, which is fairly impressive for something thats come from Hong Kong.
firstly, i open up the packet and am met with a pleasing sight: a lovely neoprene case with the Guarder logo proudly emblazoned on the front.

Upon opening the case (very simple, just a small peice of velcro, but easily enough to hold it closed securely) i took out all the parts and had a good look and fiddle.

As you can see, it comes with plenty of stuff. Theres the main frame, the normal 'arms', the goggle strap, 4 sets of lenses, and a bag/cleaning cloth and a foam insert (not pictured).
first impressions are VERY good. They're extraodinarily well made, and fell jsut as good as the Wiley SG1's. in fact, the lenses feel more secure, too, which is a bonus.

The arms are very comfortable, and are easily exchanged for the goggle straps.

The lenses are very easy to change too, if a little tricky at first, you simply push them out, while slightly bending the main frame. then just push the new lenses in. Simple job, doable in less than a minute.
Now, the main selling point for me was the foam insert. After hearing horror stories of stray ricochet's bouncing up and inside some peoples glasses, fully sealed eye protection is a must for me. I'm just cautious, i guess. Anyway, like the lenses, it's ridiculously simple to put in. You can tell that a lot of time and thought has gone into the design, and it pays off well. It clips into two small notches behind the lense, at the very edges of the frame.

They completely transform the glasses. They make it look better, feel better, and protect better. whats not to love? plus they have notches in the foam for you to remove and increase the airflow, which is already aided by the ten small holes between the insert and the frame.
Now, as a field test, i wore them for a day, both with and without the foam insert, and the goggle strap and the arms. I can happily report that they stay on and are very secure with either of them, and are comfortable with both.
Now, one minor criticism here. I found that using the glasses without the foam insert cuased the nose peices to push unfomfortably agaisnt my face. This only happened when the goggle straps were used, however, as these pull the glasses back onto your face, as opposed to the arms, which just hold it there. Using the foam insert, this problem vanished. I do have a large head though, and so this problem might not occur for you. It's not a big enough issue to put you off during a game, however it is worth noting. Guarder do advise, however, that when using the goggle strap, the foam should be installed. Maybe they had this problem too?
the second criticism is that they fog up fairly quickly on me, despite having anti fog coating on all the lenses. I wouldn't worry too much about this, however, as i can make anything fog. A decent anti fog solution should work fine, and i've just ordered some Cat Crap wax to fix this problem.
Now, onto the lenses.
Guarder advertise the different lenses in the following way:
* Neutral Gray: Provides true color definition. Ideal for everyday, all-purpose wear.
* Blue: 9% Transmission. Nuetral Transmission. Extremely Bright Light.
* Clear MLC: Clear lens with a special multi-layer coating. Enhances visual acuity during low-light conditions.
* Cadmium Yellow: High contrast yellow lens. Ideal for very low light conditions.
And for the most part, i'd agree with them in every aspect. The smoke lenses are very nice, and, like they say, are perfect for general use.
The blue lenses are much better for bright lights, but i still wouldnt advise loking at the sun with them on (trust me, it still hurts).
The yellow lenses make everything brighter, which should help immensily with dusk or night games, or even in dark places like urban sites or dense forest. The clear lenses, however, i found not to help with low light levels that much. It might just be me though.
Overall, these are a great buy, and well worth the money, especially when you consider how little money you're spending for them. And, you can use them out and about on the street, as general sunglasses, and no-one will even know of your tactical fetishes... ------------------------------ Did I tell you about the Dragons?

HI,
I think this is not bad goggle/glasses. But you end have to choose either on. I got shot by sniper and it hold out, so it did its job. The biggest problem I have .. the lens make out of easy scratable plastic... can use it after a few games... and the fog will get worst once it scratched... I try a few anti fog solutions but will not help.... I end up go back to my cheap 8 pounds harded glasses which seems to have stronger lens and less fog..(got it from airsoft world UK)------------------------------ Sig image limit is 400x100.
