Although I've been playing airsoft now for about 8 years, I've
always been a relatively casual player. An embarrassment I've
harbored throughout the years is my lack of knowledge on simple gear
that many other players take for granted. Specifically, slings have
always given me pains (sometimes literally) with their deceptively
simple nature.

With about as many varieties of slings out there as there are guns,
getting the perfect fit for yourself can be a daunting task. For a
while I used an expensive 3pt sling but was never quite satisfied with
the way my AEG hung while in a rest position. I tried a simple 2pt
sling and while it was nice walking in and out of the field, I didn't
feel much support during actual playtime. After a long time in
searching, I've finally come across a solution that works perfectly
for me and I'd like to share it.

A small US company by the name of Rocky Mountain Tactical offers a
innovative sling system called the "Delta Tactical Sling" that offers
3 different ways to fit whatever situation you may need.

The package comes with 6 separate components- 2 male buckle
adapters, 2 female buckle adapters, a Y-shaped multi buckle adapter,
and an adjustable strap (with 2 female ends). How does it all fit
together?

The first configuration uses the Y-buckle adapter, 2 female
adapters, and one male. The two female adapters attach to your vest
on the shoulders allowing the Y-buckle adapter to clip in. You attach
the male adapter to your gun and when clipped into the Y-buckle
adapter and your good to go. Once the buckles are attached to the
vest and gun, taking it off and putting it on is extremely quick and
convenient.

From here the gun rests nicely in a balanced position and it's in an
extremely comfortable to go from a rest to ready position. The
buckles make it easy to quickly detach the gun from the sling if the
situation demands it and of course reattaching it is just as quick and
easy.

What really seals the deal for me though is the support it gives.
About 7 years ago, I ruptured a disk in my lower back and even though
it's an old injury if weight is distributed unevenly my back will get
tired and wear out pretty quickly. By attaching the sling to a vest
with the help of the Y-adapter in the center, the over-all weight gets
distributed throughout my whole upper body allowing me to compensate
for my weaker lower back.

When one isn't using a vest, but still wants the same quick access
the first configuration uses, that's where the extra strap comes into
play. The Delta Tactical Sling's second configuration uses the
Y-adapter, the quick-adjustable strap, and the male adapter (attached
to the gun). As seen in the picture the Y-adapter will still be in
the approximate same position as before, but this time the strap will
go over one shoulder and under the opposite armpit and clip in. The
fit should be snug and the effect is similar to when using a vest. I
didn't feel as much support as with the vest, but it defiantly did
provide some and the comfort it gave with the gun at rest to ready
position remained largely the same.

In it's 3rd and final configuration, the Delta Tactical Sling can be
used as a pretty nice 2pt sling using the strap and 2 male adapters.
The strap has a very nice quick adjust tab (little longer than my
middle finger) that slides easily and provides a secure hold. There's
not a whole lot to say about this besides that it works very well and
is easy to use.

CONCLUSION
There's nothing really bad I can say about this sling system. If I
had to pick one thing to improve on, perhaps the inclusion of 2
snap-hook adapters as well, however those can be purchased separately
from their site for $2.50 each.

I've finally found a sling that fits me and does everything it's
supposed to do (and does it well!). What's bonus is that when used
with a vest, the weight is really distributed evenly throughout my
back and allows me to play harder and longer. I highly encourage
