This is the A&K SR-25 which is a clone of the CA-25. The A&K and CA SR-25 is based on the Stoner Rifle - 25. The following paragraph is from Wikipedia.
The SR-25 (Stoner Rifle-25) is a semi-automatic sniper rifle designed by Eugene Stoner and made by Knight's Armament Company. The SR-25 uses a rotating bolt and a direct impingement gas system. It is loosely based on Stoner's AR-10 (and therefore on the AR-15/M16), rebuilt in its original 7.62x51mm NATO caliber. Up to 60% of parts of the SR-25 are interchangeable with the AR15/M16 - everything but the receiver, the hammer, the barrel assembly and the carrier/bolt. SR-25 barrels were originally manufactured by Remington Arms with its famous 5R (5 grooves, rounded) rifling, with twist 1:11.25 (1 turn in 11.25" (286 mm)). The heavy 24" (609 mm) barrel is free-floating, so handguards are attached to the front of the receiver and do not touch the barrel.
The A&K version is a complete metal replica with only the pistol grip and stock being plastic.

The A&K SR-25 was chrono'ed at 450FPS out of the box so I replaced the spring with a M100 spring which brought it down to 330 FPS to comply with UK law.
I also replaced the hop up and bucking with an Elements 45 Hop rubber and a Big H bucking. There is nothing wrong with the standard A&K hop up this is just something I do to most of my AEG's.
The inner barrel seems to be a 6.04mm barrel as standard however I used manual calipers to check this which are not that reliable.
Here is a picture of the inside of the Gearbox and also a picture of the gearbox next to a Version 3 one to show the difference in size.

The battery connection is a small Tamiya type connector and I replaced this with a large Tamiya as the stock will accommodate a large battery. I managed to squeeze a 8.4v 3300Mah battery into the stock which should be enough juice for a whole day's skirmishing.
Ok well thats the upgrades out of the way lets talk about the actual rifle and performance.
I took the SR-25 down to Combat South Woodland and a video of the SR-25 firing can be seen here.

I actually bought this rifle as it offers the ability to hit targets at a good range in single shot, 45 meters in some cases, and also allows me to switch to full auto when the need arises. I measured the rate of fire at 790 BB's per minute.
The build quality of the A&K SR-25 is rock solid. there are no wobbles or rattles and everything is screwed up nice and tight. I have found some chinese AEG's to need the odd screw tightening before but this AEG didn't require anything done to it.
When i bought the SR-25 no spare magazines were available from A&K so I purchased 3 CA magazines for the gun and all work flawlessly. The supplied magazine also works flawlessly and will hold somewhere in the region of 500 BB's. I have now purchased a further 2 A&K magazines and both these feed flawlessly as well.
If you want to make the A&K SR-25 semi auto only there is an easy fix. All you need to do is replace the fire selector with a normal M16/M4 one and this will hit a little stopper on the lower receiver stopping you selecting full auto. The A&K SR-25 has a cut out on the fire selector allowing the AEG to go to full auto.

The hop up is a standard metal M16/M4 type and functions very well with no creep on the hop at all.

To complete the look for my SR-25 I added a Chinese copy of a Leopard scope and a grip pod. Neither of these items are included in the box and where bought separately.
The free floating RIS rail surrounding the barrel will accommodate a whole host of accessories and all the accessories I have tried on there fit well. Again some Chinese RIS rails seem to be of different sizes making the fitment of accessories difficult but the RIS on the SR-25 is a good fit to most, if not all, parts.
The silencer supplied with the AEG is a spring loaded one and this becomes evident when you fit it. When you slide the silencer over the outer barrel you have to push it in for the last inch and then lock it in place with the locking pins. This is extremely well made and adds to the overall feeling of a very well made AEG. The silencer does actually silence the AEG by a small degree however like all AEG's with silencers they are mainly for show and not function.
So there you have it. A review of the A&K SR-25. Is it worth £150? no it's probably worth a lot more to be honest as this is one of the best AEG's from China I have seen. The only thing that i can find wrong with it is the small Tamiya connector for the battery which is just me being picky.
I will finish the review with a few more pictures.
