Positive aspects of the product (pros): Full Metal, Nice features, Cheap M249
Cons:

The A&K M249 series seems to be hitting the shelves these past few months and they have been selling like hot cakes. Why, because the are cheap in price. Full metal and robust.
Alot of people say they are clones of the Classic Army ver.

This will not be a big review because some one has allready writen a brilliant review of the A&K M249 Para. So i am not gona take his glory.

The MK2 is the longer version which is slowly beeing taken over by the Para version in the Military because of its size and its manoeuvrability.
Still support companys carry on to use this model.
Here is something on the different versions:

M249 Para (M249E3)
The M249 Para is a commercial product (law enforcement and military sales only) by FNH USA, not a type classification. It features a metallic, retractable stock and a shorter barrel. It was designed as a paratrooper weapon, although its compact dimensions make it desirable in any combat scenario. The U.S. military did test a short-barreled variant based on a standard M249, but it would appear short-barreled M249s (not M249E4 SPWs or Mk 46 Mod 0s) have been modified to this standard in the field and are not original from factory. The difference between the FN M249 Para and the FN Minimi Para is the use of the so-called PIP (Product Improvement Program) kit developed for the M249, which is also found on all commercial M249 variants.

The following are U.S. military type classifications:

M249E4
The M249-based variant of the FN Minimi Special Purpose Weapon (SPW) has Picatinny rails mounted on the feed cover and handguard, a short barrel and a Para-style retractable stock. Some features from the SAW and Para models were removed to save weight — these include the STANAG magazine port, the tripod-mounting lug and the built-in bipod.

Mk 46 Mod 0
Adopted by USSOCOM, the Mk 46 Mod 0 features an improved rail handguard and uses the standard fixed buttstock, which is significantly lighter than the E4's M5 retractable unit from FN. The Mk 46 variant differs notably from the M249 and Minimi in that it is only belt-fed, while the latter work with belts or M16-type magazines. The Mk 46 is lighter due to this change. While extremely similar, the Mk 46 Mod 0 and the M249E4 are not the same weapon.

Reasons why i bought the MK2 was becasue of its size it rocks it looks like a monster. This thing realy stands out in the field.
The differences From the para is its Shorter barrel, colapsing stock and the rail mounting system on the feed tray cover.

So far i have not shot this SAW but all i can say is that the outside looks great. You do not need markings realy on this type of gun either you support your team or you look at all the nice details. This gun is rock solid for its size and it can take abuse ITS METAL. This SAW beats the Star and Top models by a short distance because of build and looks and price. To strip this SAW is a joy to do. So maintanenc should be easy.
Dont forget everything inside can be replaced or upgraded if you know how to. I do not have an idea but i think in airsoft alot of things can be upgraded.
The sights are a nice touch too. The SAW weighs at aprox 6.88 Kg but its not so heavy when you pick it up because the materials are well placed around the SAW. The real SAW is also 6.88kg empty and 10.02kg loaded.

I will write a feed back when i have tested it in the field so far me and our team just have been having dry runs (Trainning with out shooting) we tabed 15ks on satuarday and it got banged about a bit but it is still rock and sturdy.
This is a great Airsoft product anyone looking for a support weapon i think A&K have stolen the market for support weapons.
But hey thats just me talking a newbee to Airsoft. I am Officialy a M249 fan. Sorry my old GPMG friend from my army days i have a new friend THE M249
