Luminox 3000 Original Navy SEAL Dive Series
A good watch can be an invaluable tool to the weekend warrior. Timing assaults, day or night, knowing when an objective has been held long enough, respawn times, or when it’s about time to call it a day. Any old watch though isn’t always the best choice. One watch I would advice is the Luminox Navy SEAL 3000 Series Dive watch.

The Luminox printed stats on their watch are:
· Case Material-Carbon reinforced polymer injection molded case
· Case Diameter-43 mm
· Bezel-Unidirectional polymer ratcheting bezel
· Caseback-Black PVD plated stainless steel case back secured with stainless steel screws
· Crystal-tempered scratch resistant mineral crystal
· Crown-Double gasket push in crown
· Water Resistance-200M
· Movement-Jeweled Swiss quartz movement
· Battery Life (months)-45
· End of Life (EOL)-N
· Strap-PU strap
· Lug Width-22 mm
The watch comes in a nice leather padded display case with an international warranty card.
I wore this watch through the Ai:500 Operation Blackjack and I can say two things: a) it’s durability is great. Crawling through gravel, bagging into concrete walls, nothing seemed to scratch the watches face and b) it is extremely comfortable to wear. I never noticed it was there until I needed to look at it. The only sign of wear was a slight wearing away of the painted second numbers on the outside of the watch.
Personally I wear the watch inverted (oh yeah, for that SFO look :D ) and is perfectly comfortable like this as the watch’s face isn’t so oversized that it presses into you wrist. The band is made of rubber or some or some form of synthetic material. Whatever it is it is extremely comfortable to wear and once you tighten the watch to fit it expands a bit to allow for a perfect fit.

As far as looks go it’s a pretty basic, no frills looking watch. One nice thing though is what I believe are tritium inserts in the watch that allow a near perfect glow in the dark all through the night without any needed “recharge” like some glow in the dark materials need. On the inside of the face there are military time stamps for the equivalent time, which is a nice use feature for matches done in military time. A day counter is on there is also a nice feature.

One last thing, which is a plus for some (not me), is that the rear side of the watch features the Navy Seal Trident. Personally, I have to scratch that off (West Point doesn’t take kindly to Navy Emblems) but this, for some, can be a crowning detail to an impression.

Anyway I would give this watch a 9/10. It’s a great watch overall, the only down point is for me was the Navy SEAL crest (Beat Navy) and the wear on the watch's outside.
