Positive aspects of the product (pros): holds 26 shotshells, various colours, hard wearing, alternative to a shell sling
Cons: shell loops are slightly tight as the TM and clone shells are slightly wider than real 12g shotshells

Carrying a lot of shotshells is a must if you're in a long game and you're main weapon is a shotgun, so storage for all those extra shells is a major necessity. There are a plethora of real steel shotshell holding/storage devices out there to help the shotgunner to have those extra rounds in a firefight (be it real or airsoft simulation) Items such as Sidesaddles, stock holders (for folding and full stocks), slings, pouches, bandoleers and belts.

The latter is the item being reviewed here - namely the Jack Pyke Shotshell belt.

First Impressions:

The belt was bought on Ebay for £10 posted (so it doesn't break the bank) but retails usually at around £10 - £15 at other venues. The belts are available at present in Black, DPM and Olive Drab (the version being reviewed is the Olive Drab to go with my '58 Patt' webbing loadout) The belt comes in a plastic bag with the Jack Pyke label attached to it. The belt features a quick release buckle which is adjustable and seems to be made of strong webbing. Upon opening out the belt, there are 26 slots to store your shotshells. The loops are closed at the bottom (unlike some stock holders and slings that are just effectively open ended elasticated loops) and are made of strong canvas. The advert states that the shell loops are for 20g or 12g shotshells and the Marui and UTG/Double Eagle shotshells (however, due to the airsoft shotshells being slightly wider than the real 12g versions, they are a tight fit - although that's not necessarily a bad thing as it means that the shells should stay in place until taken out by hand)

Summary:

The belt is slightly padded and is quite comfortable to wear and is adjustable (so no rushing to the gym to lose those extra 8 pies you gobbled down at lunch *snigger* ) All in all, for the price and what you get for it the Jack Pyke shotshell belt is a good purchase for anyone who might be considering an alternative to one of the other shell storage devices mentioned above.

In short, good value for money

Darklite: Actually, I was using my AK - the shottie I had lent to Tink at that point.

*suitcase*, I best go and check it still works.
