I was looking for a throatmic for Ground Zero 2008. After some looking around and asking a few knowledgable people for advice, I was told to get either the DEVGRU or IASUS NT3.
I settled on the IASUS NT3 after being kindly directed to an excellent retailer based in the US.
Now the IASUS NT3 is a very simple-to-use throatmic headset that supports many functions. I used mine over Ground Zero 2008 with a Motorola GP300 and my Motorola XTN 446. It supports VOX function for both radio sets and should fit most other PMRs just fine with a different adaptor. You just need to specify when ordering what connector you need.
Comms was mostly clear and effortless throughout the weekend, the neck strap was so comfortable that I didn't notice or feel it there the entire weekend. The ear bud was however, a bit too small and wasn't entirely comfortable, but thats a minor issue as ear buds of a different size should be a breeze to find and fit on the acoustic coil. Looks-wise it's very nice and solid, definately a quality product, and all for less than some of the more expensive Firefox throat mics too!
Overall I am very very impressed with the NT3 and have to say that it is without a doubt one of my best buys ever. Highly recommended. I am also reviewing the retailer I bought it from so have a look at that review as well.
