Positive aspects of the product (pros):
|
Solid as a rock ,high quality internals and externals, has a real gun feel to it .
|
|
Cons:
|
Needs down grading to use ,small bit of rust on bar that holds ejection port ,says AGM in large letters on one side (if that bothers you)

IT ARRIVED TODAY (w00t)
What can I say this gun is solid as a rock no wobbles rattles etc
Bullys special prize as this is the full stock model it comes with a longer barrel so it is more like a 416 riffle not a carbine ,had not realized this till it came .
I own and have owned allot of airsoft guns and have to say I am blown away by this one .
The one thing that was not good was a small amount of rust on the little bar that goes through the ejection flap.
Had to take it down to snip the spring a bit more (was already done by my supplier) as my coke can chrono told me it was up near 400 .
Very impressed with the internals has a nice heavy metal spring guide and nothing looked cheap or badly built inside ,however it did look like some one went mad with the mar mite in there (weird grease ).
First impressions on the inside are that the bits apart from the wire are better or at least as good as a TM .
It has what look like brass bushes never seen any that colour before but they look good and as these are designed to fire at 420-450 somehow I don't think these will fail at 350 too quickly.
It was shimmed well but needed the hop area cleaning out with cotton buds to get rid of some grease however barrel was not that bad.
My main experience of similar guns are the TMM16A2 ,TM M4 S system and the JLS scar I can confirm that this is better than any of those hands down.
Firstly the M16 looked like a plastic toy gun and felt like a plastic toy gun, the 416 s stock is much more solid than the TM one and feels thicker .
The M4 feels nice but has the disadvantage of trying to get decent battery's to fit in the hand guard and it doesn't have the heft or presence of this gun also weak power as standard.
Well the I am the forth owner of the JLS and it has been skirmished 3 times not full days I think that says it all, not a gun for everybody.
So far all mags I have tried fit including star lo and mid caps .
I am skirmishing it tomorrow but I have had a bit of an airsoft binge the last three weeks and have three new aegs to try out and two new pistols so it will not get a full day there is no way I can resist the new 249 or G3SG1.
I digress
Something I have read said about this gun by people who are bothered by this sort of thing is "the trades are not right it's crap I will by the plastic JG one"
If you do that you are missing out my friend ,this is one hell of a gun and what are we talking 5 minutes with a fine brush and some black paint then it will not say AGM on the side anyway.
Oh and it sounds very crisp and snappy no whine I did try it out with a silencer and !oh moma! she sings.
In summery I would say that overall feel and presence of this gun is on par with classic army internals are better than TM,cyma and JLS (not hard).
Will update after some skirmish time though according to my coke can I am above 290 and below 340 I would make it around 300 judging it on how other chronoed guns perform in the same test so my range might be a bit out.
Ok it chronoed at 288 and felt like an old stock TM to use because of that, very hop dependent and i did not have the range i am used to .
This was my fault for incorrectly interpreting the coke can chrono and cutting too much spring, I have since put an M100 in it.
Other than that it performed very well I added a vertical grip and a small ris bi pod that must of added to the weight but I found it was very useful on this gun .
It was surprisingly heavy after a couple of hours even though i like that in an AEG I can see it would hurt some smaller types.
I bought this as a gun that could do everything and it will be getting the full 24 hour mil sim test next so watch this space.
Ok mil - simed it now .With new m100 systema spring it looked like it was going to fail the chrono coming in at 352-354 but after a few minutes full auto and adjusting the hop I got it to 350.Range and accuracy were much improved and the gun performed very well had some good long range kills and after around 8 hours wet game play the finish is holding up well .
I will update when it has had more use but it's WW2 for me for the next 2-3 months so it will not get used much.

this is my first review so sorry if it is not that great.
so first off the box,
the box has very nice artwork on the front with a picture of the gun on the front. once you open the box there is the gun with the magazine in and the charger and battery all packed in polystirene <--- dont think its spelt right...
The first thing i thought once i picked the gun up was 'wow this is heavy' after my awe had gone i noticed there was a bit of wobble in the stock but this was solved by tightening the screw on the back of the stock.
When you shoulder the gun the sights line up nicely with the eye and are very easy to aim with. i have recently put a scope on mine but every now and then i take it off and just use the iron sights. as you would expect with a peep site it is very easy to aquire targets as you can see all around the sight as well as down it.
the battery that comes with the gun is an 8.6 volt 1500mah Ni-Mh. im not too sure how long it takes to charge up as i just usually leave it on over night. the battery is quite unusual as it is a large type battery with a small type connector.
so to the firing.
i have skirmished this gun only once but was very impressed by the performance. it is a bit hot for most sites at around 400fps. the r.o.f is quite quick and due to the power the range is quite far. as i said before i have put a scope on mine as the accuracy of this gun is exceptional and i can easily play a sniper role using it.
although i have only skirmished it once i have been playing around with it in my garden. never mind puncturing a can in half i decided i would get a full can off heineken (i dont like the taste of it) and i sawed it in half with the gun from about 3mtrs away. another pointless thing i did (i suppose it could be a test for trigger responce and aquiring targets..) was shake up a can throw it in the air and shoot it (it exploded).
the gun strips down easily and with the removal of one pin the upper reciever slides off. from there you can slide the inner barrel and hop up out. at the reciever end of the hand gaurd there is an allen key screw that if removed you can slide the handgaurd off. inside the handgaurd is a tube that resembles the gas tube on the real steel hk416 i found this a really nice touch.
the flash hider can be screwed on right next to the handgaurd or extended with the longer barrel attachment.
the folding front sight post is a bit wobbly in both positions (up/down)
the full metal version is extremely sturdy and has metal every where except the grip and stock. the only downside i have found about this is that because the hk416 is a modular weapon sytem it has R.I.S. this causes great annoyance when holding it (especially in a skirmish). the foregrip really works as a cheese grater on your hand and i reccomend a vertical foregrip.
overall i give this gun a 9.5 out of ten and would recommend it to anyone that wants a powerful and stirdy gun.
i hope this was helpfull,
blake

A solid lump of heavy metal!

I have now used this fine AEG for 3 full game days and now feel that I can legitimately review my own model. So often reviews are made in the first flush of ownership before much experience can be gleaned.
When first delivered I suspected this AEG to be hot and my suspicions were confirmed when I recorded velocities of nearly 430 FPS. After cleaning the green/brown grease from the gearbox and replacing with a suitable Systema product I inspected the internals and found them to be very robust and more than adaquate. Of note were the brass bushings, these are sensible, as this material has a self lubricating quality. All parts are good and chunky and the gears adaquately shimmed.
The spring I noted is very short but stiff and was replaced with a stock D Boy spring that is probably equivalent to a M100. I used this as it is equally short and felt that this shortness contributed to the excellent lock time, in other words it fires when the trigger is pulled without an anoying time lapse.
The stock Hop Up unit is a copy of the TM two piece affair first used in the M16 A2. It is really effective and works well with the stock barrel. This set up was used in its first two games and is perfectly servicable. Range is equivalent or slightly better than high end models of the same power. However for my latest game I fitted a TM rubber and element H nub and 6.04 barrel.
This set up I shall now retain as the reach is really quite superb, the velocity readings are consistently 350ish FPS, the only draw back is the weight which for me is no problem as I am largish, but could be tiresome for some, however this weight equates to real strength and ridgidity that I have not experienced in other models. No wonder this has sold out from most UK retailers!
