Initial Impressions
I recieved this gun and eagerly opened up the box. I was at first disappointed. The box the gun came in was miles away in quality to my CA box. The bottom was clear plastic paper almost and the manuals were all but useless. Luckly, the box does not demonstrate the quality of the gun itself. Insisde there was the gun, the high-cap magazine, cleaning rod, small battery and some papers. The battery is crap some I got rid of this, like you should do with most if not all clone batteries. I removed the M16 from its garbage packaging and gave it a quick look over. The metal was of high quality, as was the RIS and it weight a lot less than my M4, which was a plus. The stock is made of plastic, but it is smooth and looks cheap. I plan on replacing this with an old CA one lying around my house. Inside the stock is the battery connector, which unfortunatly is small, and I needed a large one. This cost me some more money to purchase a converter. The pistol grip is made of similar plastic but the bottom is vented to help keep the motor cool. When you pull the charging handle back, the dust cover flops down, similar to the TM versions, to reveal the hop-up. Many people on ASGI commented and said that the dust cover falls off. It has not on mine but has on a friend's A&K, so be advised here. If it does fall off though, there is a black plastic piece that looks like the real bolt on the M16 that will cover the hop-up and project it from dust and debris. The other problem I had with this gun (it is a very small problem), is that it did not have any trades on her, which left the reciever blank and boring. I quickly fixed this with a white out pen, creating my own trades. After examining the gun, I set it aside and looked over the mag. It was total rubish and didn't even fit in the gun, so I ditched it and stuck with my MAG mags.
Performance
The first time I used this gun was in a skirmish. I was very pleased with the gun's performance. Throughout the day I was outranging CA M16s and M4s, a G&G M14, and Echo 1 MP5s. The gun did not jam while using .2s, but I did encounter some trouble when firing .25s. The ROF was slow on full auto, which was a little annoying but I used semi-auto most of the day since the gun was very acurate. In the end, I had one of the best days of airsofting using this gun.
I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap M16 that is all metal, does not have barrel wobble, and is very reliable. Since it is a clone of CA, it will take CA parts if it ever breaks.------------------------------
