Description: Bell EG720 is a copy of Tokyo Marui design. Frame, slide and barrel are made of ABS polymer, the gun has full Colt trademarks and unique serial numbers. Not bad, but needs some refining.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Inexpensive, decent finish, unique serial numbers
Cons: Poor release valve, cools down too fast

Whether you wanted it or not, Chinese airsoft factories started (finally!) cloning GBBs. Bell, the maker of EG720, was previously mostly unknown, bar maybe the unbelievably poor G3SAS "clamshell" AEG, but it seems they found themselves a nice spot in the GBB department. After the hit-and-miss Beretta M9 clone, the EG707, Bell ironed out some flaws in their new release - Colt M1911A1 is so good that local geardos bought some just to avoid getting mud in their TM M1911s. And yes, it does work.

Starting with the packaging - EG720 arrives in a sturdy plastic case with foam inserts. Aside from the gun and instruction manual, we also get a barrel bushing tool and a spare loading nozzle. As for the looks of the gun itself - for the unbelievably low price, it's pretty good. Trademarks look spot-on and there's no "Made in China" or Engrish involved. What's most interesting is the fact that every pistol has a unique serial number - made with noticeably different font than the rest of trademarks, but still, have you ever seen unique serial numbers on ACM guns before?! The finish could have been a little more "metallic" and I wouldn't mind a better outer barrel, as it bears some mold marks, but in the end, nothing to be ashamed of.

On the inside, the EG720 isn't bad either, but not as good as on the outside. The action is smooth and nothing jams, but the mags leave some things to be desired. First thing are the release valves - maybe only mine was so "unlucky", but in the field, the performance may vary wildly from shot to shot. Most of the time, valve works fine, blowback is crisp, loud and powerful, but sometimes it acts like it's running low on gas, only to shoot the next round just fine. The next problem is cooldown. EG720 is not a pistol for the fans of John Woo - firing four or five shots in quick succession is enough to make the magazine go cold even in room temperature, greatly affecting gas usage (it won't vent, but gas consumption will rise considerably, resulting in gas cloud coming out of the ejector and barrel). If you only need a sidearm to use from time to time, EG720 isn't a bad choice, but if you plan to use it as a main weapon, be wary.
