Lincolnshire Airsoft Club Review – Kirton Lindsey Site
Kirton Lindsey is just off the A15 in North Lincolnshire. It’s a very big site and they have really good facilities.
Booking
I found booking to be a simple and quick process via their website. Within an hour or so I had an email from the club telling me my booking was confirmed. They don’t require money up front which surprised me. Something I feel worth mentioning is the Club’s wide variety of hire equipment. They have everything from AKs to P90s. The walk on fee is £15 for a whole 6 hours of gaming time and £15 to hire a gun 1500bb’s which I think is an excellent deal especially considering I have to travel a fair way to get there.
The Site
The safe zone at the site consists of the car park, a large brick building with a cafe selling lots of munchies at decent prices with seating and tables, outside seating and toilets. There is also a shop selling a wide variety of ammunition and pyrotechnics. Also, The Club staff are really friendly. The Marshalls had an excellent sense of humour, seemed fair and were welcoming. Even the regulars were happy enough to have a chat between games and when silence wasn’t needed.
With both woodland and open quarry for terrain it makes games very interesting with the need to think tactically and work as a team. This brings me onto my next point. There were only about 40 people when I went and I feel it made for a better day’s gaming as it was easier to get your team to work together and it gave the staff more time to talk to each individual person.
I think my main issue with the site itself is the terrain once you get out of the woodland area. It is practically a no-go area if you a wearing everyday trainers. Boots or at the very least good quality hiking trainers are a must for this site.
The games themselves are one of the best bits of the site. Never before have I been in a game where a member of the opposite team can bring you back from the dead so you join their team. An excellent twist I think.
To summarise:
Pros
• Really good on-site facilities
• Well stocked on-site shop
• Friendly staff and players
• Decent hire gun selection
Cons
• Terrain can be really hard work at times and not entirely suitable for those without decent footwear
• There is only one sign by the entrance to the site. Not a huge issue really but I feel it worth mentioning for anyone planning to go there
Overall I liked my day at Kirton Lindsey and I would certainly recommend the Lincolnshire Airsoft club to others.
