G36 parts

Hi,

I've had a spur of the moment idea to make a strange G36 variant.

Does anyone know if there is any possibility of getting the SL9 grip without having to buy the rest of the kit? I'm only interested in a G36K handguard (possibly with bipod attachment) and an SL9 grip and stock, and the Weaver Rail mount if it can fit on the handguard.

I'm hoping it would make a competant assault and support rifle...

If it helps, this is what I mean (Photoshopped):

What sort of Rails can you fit on the G36K handguard? Anything with RIS?

I'm not even sure if that combination is possible, but if it is it'd be a fun thing to try, I'm sure it's pretty unique (in a "what the hell is that?!" kind of way)

I'm not keen on buying a G36C, then an SL9 kit, then a G36K handguard, so I thought you'd all know if I could avoid that or not. And then there's the assembly...

Of course, I've no idea how long the Handguard of a G36K is compared to the SL9, they could be the same, thus making it a simply barrel change. I got the pictures from Zero One, and would probably try to convert that SL9, if the handguards are the same length.

Thanks,

LePsycho

that's a star g36k you've used there, it's with the old handguard, and it's slightly out of proportion. The old one had heating problems (in real steel, that is). As you can see, there are no holes for ris rails, although the ca36k uses the new handguard which is slimmer and has holes for a ris. A topic somewhere on arnie's claims the STAR internals are utter ###### in comparison to the CA, even tho it delivers a few fsp higher out of the box

I think the best thing to do is get a CA36k, get a sl9 stock

you're not going to find a bipod for the g36k other than the real steel. There is a cheap-o bipod for the old version handguard available (so for the STAR) but if I were you, I'd wait until another company brings out an old g36k handguard with bipod, otherwise you're going to have to go for a g36 handguard with bipod, or just a harris or some other type

sorry for the crappy english, I've learnt it from the simpsons

i think yourf best bet is to buy the whole kit (star, not poly, as poly is ######) but you need the SL9 body aswell, as the stock doesnt fit to the normal one, so you'd need the SL9 body and stock, so you could then sell on the rest of the kit? (front grip, top rail, magazine, long outer barrel) :)

Ah, so keep that main body part? Thanks, would that get in the way of the normal handguard, like overlap it or not attach correctly if it was there? I'd need some exact details, otherwise the thing might not fit together... unless the SL9 body would allow the normal G36C rail to attach, or vice versa

I'd sell any other parts from the kit, put that towards some mags or something.

Sorry to double post, but can anyone give measurements of the SL9 (converted Marui version)? Stuff like Rail length, body length, stock length, or just let me know if the SL9 body can be attached and still allow the normal rail and handguard. If it can't the ideas kinda screwed...

Thanks,

LePsycho

Hi there,

This is an interesting idea... I especially liked that SG36C that Necro posted about - quite cool looking actually.

I've done a fair bit of playing around with G36 furniture too, and I can confirm that you can definitely use a "K" length barrel assembly with a full-length fore-grip (with or without built-in bipod). If you want to use the "C" length front-end, then you have more options for the bipod that you can use.

Another possibility is to just stick one of those G&P large battery butt-stocks to the G36C - that looks pretty cool too. In fact, I've done this to my "K", and have also stuck on the full-length fore-grip. photos attached.
